Details will be posted here in the coming 2 days, i have been around college today and i am still awaiting confirmation of the prize pool for both the heads up championship and for the main event
here is the proposed events Heads up tournament will take place on either Tuesday the 17th of April or Wednesday the 25th, i need people to say which they prefer before the 7th of April and the main event will definately take place on the 18th of April, the room will either be Elec Eng room L1 or in the Kampus Kitchen/Mini, i am awaiting a phone call which will confirm... The prize pools will be confirmed in the coming days as i am awaiting a bank statement from the societies guild. All the qualifiers have been informed of all of this, and there is one catch. all of the qualified players have to send an email to uccpokersoc@gmail.com to confirm that they want to/can play in the tournament. The email has to be sent by the 15th of April or else your seat will no longer be available. I know it sounds unfair, but all you have to say is im playing, only takes 2 minutes, so no complaining I will update this in the next 3 days with a lot more information and everything will be sorted then, any questions please post here

tadhg and duggan are still to be informed, all the others are at this moment in time
this being the tournament of champions, there is no letting small mistakes go. String betting rule is in total effect, there will be no complaints about it, if you say raise, and put in chips, you cannot reach back for any more
there is also a one chip rule in place, if the bet into you is 200 and you throw in a white chip, unless you have said raise before the chip touches the felt it is classified as a call
also, if you constantly are cursing at the table, you will get a 5 minute ban, we arent going to be very strict on this unless the cursing is towards another player, if cursing is seen to be towards a player you will get an initial warning and then after that you will recieve your ban
more will be put up here, all normal casino rules, i just cant think of them right now
these rules and more than likely a few more will be very strictly put into play and we do not expect to have any complaints about this as this is the big tournament with the best players and we expect them to abide by the rules used in the best casino's.

Did all these players win a tournament this year?
|
|
|
Post by POC on Apr 2, 2007 19:40:38 GMT
Nope.
All the winners were taken, plus last years TOC winner, givin 22 i think, and the remaining 10 spots were the ten highest placed on the leaderboard not having won a tourney, to give a field of 32 players.Since Ger Creedon won twice he gets to invite anyone of his choosing not already qualified to use his second ticket.
Think that covers it.

everyone is qualified for both tourneys, all you have to do is turn up, the heads up tourney will be €10, but pokersoc will be matching the prize pool, meaning that if 32 players turn up the prize pool will be 640, 160 of which will go to top 8 for online credit meaning if you beat 2 players you are in a profit. i think it is a very good deal, thats what you get for qualifying for the toc
however i dont think there will be online credit for the main toc event, still not a bad prize pool though!!

i rang and text all of the unconfirmed, but they still havent gotten back to be yet here is the toc update
here are the prize pools for the tournament of champions tournaments,
heads up tourney(Tuesday) subject to 32 players 1st:€230+20 2nd:€140+20 3rd:€70+20 4th:€40+20 5th:€20(online) 5th:€20(online) 5th:€20(online) 5th:€20(online)
480 cash+160
big tourney(Wednesday) 1st:€500 2nd:€300 3rd:€200 4th:€160 5th:€130 6th:€100 7th:€70 8th:€40
venue is either going to be kampus kitchen or room A1 in the science building, kampus kitchen still havent confirmed whether or not we can have the room, so i dont know which way they will go as of yet nevertheless; registration on Tuesday will start at quarter past twelve and play will commence at half twelve, to my knowledge only one person will not be able to play the heads up tourney but he will attend the main tournament. the main tournament registration will also start at quarter past twelve and play will commence at twenty to one. starting stacks of 7k an the blind structure can be seen on the day or i might post it on here if i have the time any questions???
